Bear's Paw Fabrics opened their doors in April, 1996 in Towson, Maryland and a year and a half later opened the second store in Ellicott City. The name was chosen by the owners, Doug and Judy Munro, because of their love of animals and bear's paw is a popular quilt pattern.


We are a Bernina of America dealer displaying the latest sewing and embroidery machine models, software and accessories to make your sewing experience the best it can possibly be. The Swiss machines are engineered for quality and performance and are user friendly. Our staff is prepared to assist and encourage you in all of your sewing endeavors.


We continue our support of the Bernina brand by being an authorized Bernina of America Service Facility and can also provide repair service on most mechanical machines made by other manufacturers.


At both of our locations, you will be surrounded by inspiration. Everywhere you look you will find samples from clothing and accessories to home accents and quilts. We love our Bernina Artista Software and embroidery also, just ask us about it!
