Working with a unique composite material, Kraft-tex, we will make a notebook cover that is big enough to fit the composite notebooks. Kraft-tex is a paper product that you can wash and is very durable. Great to make for family and friends for the holidays.Try a new medium, Kraft-tex, making a notebook cover using the Hunter's Star quilt pattern. Kraft-tex is a leather-like product that is washable and easy to sew.

STUDIO 180 - MONTHLY TECHNIQUE - FOUNDATION PAPER PIECING

Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) is a great way to get those intricate blocks done with amazing results. Come and learn how to FPP and learn how you too can get amazing points and blocks. In this class we will make Log Cabin and Steps, great blocks to start with. After you get this technique in your skill box you will be able to tackle more complicated deigns. This class is part of an ongoing monthly skills class, with many of the students are working on Jen Kingwell's LONG TIME GONE. However, you are welcome to join us any month to learn that particular skill.

In this class, you will learn how to sew a zipper on a curved edge - another new zipper installation style. Discover how to finish the edges and stitch the binding to the bag to refine the shape of the train case. Though this is a bit more difficult, you have had lots of practice by now, so feel confident that you can accomplish this step with ease. Practice really does make perfect! LITTLE POPPINS BAG

This lovely Little Poppins Bag is constructed with Bosal, a double-sided fusible foam stabilizer, Pellon's 72F for the purse bottom and two metal stays (included with the pattern) for the zippered opening. The finished bag is impressively sturdy and numerous pockets line the inside for easy organization. Appropriate for the intermediate to experienced sewer, this two day class will have a week in between to do homework and catch-up work. The pattern allows for two size options (13" x 12" x 9" or 13" x 9" x 9"). Large and small scale prints are perfect for this project.

This over-sized, sturdy caddy has lots of easy-to-access slip pockets and dividers to hold and organize all your supplies. You will be thrilled to learn how to make bellowed inner dividers. Their ingenious design allows the interior fabric dividers to be fully expandable yet to also be able to fall flat against the caddy when not in use. This project also introduces a new style of handles which are padded with Soft and Stable and attached to the caddy using rectangle rings. You will test your binding skills as you sew the binding on the bulky bottoms and curved edges and make the "grab" handles on the end. But you're an expert, so it's no problem! Come learn how to make this beautiful patchwork bag using QuiltSmart Panels. These bags have been very popular and we bet you can't make just one! Although you can choose which size you'd like to make (we have samples of both sizes in the shop), we will focus on the Midi Bag in the class. Midi and Mondo are very versatile. The QuiltSmart panels yield beautiful patchwork piecing. We will discuss variations and options (like additional pockets), and if you don't complete your bag in class you'll have the information and skills to finish up at home.

This class is for 8 series, 7 series and 590, and 570 machines. We will go over all the basic functions of your new machine. And we will have fun exploring: Decorative stitching; Temporary Altered Stitch Memory; Altering stitches; Pattern functions; Memory and Alphabets, mirror image and other features and functions. If you had a one-on-one session with us prior to this class, you are welcome to take this class as a review. Class is FREE if purchased from Bear's Paw Fabrics but we welcome people who purchased elsewhere for $90. .

In Class 3, we will focus on learning both the pieced and applique drawing tools included in EQ8. You will learn how to draw your own pieced blocks, modify existing pieced blocks, how to draw your own appliques or even trace pictures to make your own appliques.

In Class 4, you will learn how to arrange blocks and motifs in any way that you desire without using the Electric Quilt presets. Your blocks will not be placed into pre-determined spaces like they are in the other quilt layouts. This will provide you with the flexibility to design a quilt in any way which you desire. This quilt features 42 unique quilting blocks as well as a beautiful decorative bow border. We will complete four blocks each month. Although much of our sewing will be done in class, students will work on finishing each month?s blocks at home. You may choose to work using the beautiful Riley Blake fabrics which Lori selected for this quilt, or you may work in other color-ways and fabrics if you prefer. Fabric requirements are included on page 196 of the pattern book which we will use as our reference when making our quilts. For beginners and experienced embroiderers. Join Spanky for a few hours to learn the things that make your embroidery stitch outs go from just so to WOW. Spanky has been embroidering for over 25 years and has made every mistake you can think of. You don't need to repeat these mistakes if you take this class. There are many things that can cause a just ok looking stitching in this session. We will explore those issues that can cause a less than great design. A few of the things covered: The digitizing, the format, the thread, the stabilizer, the needles, the machine and hoops and much more. STUDIO 180 - TUMBLING TRIANGLES

By combining two contrasting fabrics you will create triangles tumbling down the quilt. Using the Studio 180 V-Block tool, this quilt is fun and quick. Just jump right in and give it a whirl!.
